The project it’s a multi scale approach into a systemic issue in terms of mobility, sustainability, urban quality and state action in social aspects.

It begins recognizing Bogota from its regional/global character zooming to a metropolitan, zonal, micro zonal and local scale.

It is based on a general hypothesis of the fragmentation of the city into two portions. An east side with the concentration of most of the infrastructure, services and economically relevant areas and a west side with lack of the aforementioned with a concentration of the working hand into a complex social and economical context.

The proposal divides in 3 major scales, a metropolitan mobility plan, a zonal urban characterization and a micro zonal and local urban renewal.

The last scale, consist in a series of strategies that aim to improve life’s quality by the modification of the urban context joint with social and economical policies that will hamper social issues.

The strategies are followed by 4 main phases into the transformation of the site.

The implementation of mass transportation 

The rehabilitation of the natural elements (wetland and forest reserves)

The modification of the urban tissue to create public space, to relieve the excessive densification and the creation of social and free housing.

The consolidation and mixture of land use

The creation of a bigger and stronger service and facility system in the site.
