En 1961 Turín realizó una Exposición Universal para mostrar al mundo su desarrollo industrial y tecnológico. Para esta fueron construidos un sin numero de edificaciones, y elementos de infraestructura.

Sin embargo al finalizar la Exposición, debido a una carencia de demanda para estos espacios, la mayoría de estos entró en desuso, sub utilización y/o abandono, algunos fueron incluso desmantelados.

Uno de esos elementos fue la estación de teleférico de Turín. Esta elevaba una linea de cabinas sobre el río Po y hasta las colinas al nor oriente de la ciudad, hasta el Parque Europa, desde donde había una vista de toda la exposición y de la ciudad coronada por los Alpes.

Cuando la demanda de visitantes al parque cayo en picada la estación, en concreto armado quedó abandonada y clausurada.

Nuestra labor fue de determinar su potencial, los posibles deterioros a nivel plástico y los posibles usos para traerla de nuevo a la vida.

El proyecto estableció una estación de alquiler de bicicletas que incluye un bar y que se ajusta a un circuito de actividades deportivas generando así un nuevo atractivo para su utilización.

In 1961 Turin hosted an International Expo to show the technological and industrial development of the country. For this it was built a whole set of buildings and infrastructure elements.

However at the end of the Exposition they were sub-used abandoned and even some demolished.

This was the case of the funicular line that soared over the river Po towards the hills on the northeast of the city. It's las and only stop was at the top of the Europe park to a magnificent view of the whole Exposition and the city crowned by the Alps.

When the demand of visitors and users of the funicular fell steeply, the station was abandoned and closed down.

Our duty was to point out every kind of decay on the material for it's restoration and specify the process to do so, and later to insert a function to it to bring the building back to life.

The project turned into a rental bike station with a cafe-bar that makes part of a complex of sport activities that extend to the many parks of the hills, making it attractive and useful again.
